Ethos was founded by Jimmy and Hutch with the aim of creating a more positive professional atmosphere in the entertainment and events industry. Believing in camaraderie and integrity, they decided to combine their experience to foster a better environment for productions and labor. Jimmy Smith
Managing Partner
Jimmy is an adept project coordination specialist who pays attention to detail while evaluating the technical aspects of projects. This contributes to his planning abilities, optimizing jobsite organization and efficiency.
He began his project management experience while in the US Navy Civil Engineering Corps (Seabees). Trained in carpentry and masonry, he was responsible for project planning, estimation, and management in a variety of contingency and humanitarian operations, ultimately receiving commendations for his leadership.
Upon being honorably discharged from the Navy, Jimmy returned to New York and began his career as a stagehand, transitioning his skills and experience to entertainment. Originally working in carpentry, he found his niche in rigging, eventually earning stewardship, production, and supervisory positions.
Danny Hutch
Managing Partner
Danny Hutch has diversified experience within the entertainment industry. He has a proven track record of leadership having held multiple Crew Chief positions at various venues. Skilled in administrative organization, he has assisted multiple venues and productions advance, staff, and execute their goals on a variety of shows.

Hutch began his stagehand career as a carpenter in a scenic shop where he built sets for Broadway and television, eventually becoming a lead on multiple on-site installations. During this time, he also spent two summers as a stagehand at the Santa Fe Opera, and one year as the electrics intern at Yale School of Drama.
These experiences allowed Hutch to become knowledgeable in his craft and develop proficient leadership qualities. Beyond his leadership, he is an ETCP certified Entertainment Electrician and Theatrical Rigger keen on teaching others.
